What's in My Bag?

I love my bag from Target.  I went through a period of time, like 3 years worth of time, not carrying a bag.  I used to LOVE shopping for cute purses.  A purse was so essential to me, as a lady ;-) When I got married, my husband's pocket became my purse.  He would carry my phone and a ChapStick.  That's all I would need.  I have always liked over the shoulder bags, so sometimes I would carry that.

Here is what's in my purse right now.
*Kenneth Cole wallet - hubby picked it out for me.
*A watch
*Sunnies x2
*Some gum... I don't typically chew a lot of gum, but this pack was left over from the trip.
*A ring? Also from the trip.  Come to think of it, I didn't even wear it!  I got this ring as a souvenir from Charleston, SC last year when we were on vacation :) It's kind of special :)
*ChapStick!!!!!
*My iPhone, in love with my case from Etsy.  Foxes are so cool.
*A logbook for tracking my steps along with a pen and step tracker... haven't been using it... need.to.start....

A lot of fellow bloggers are doing "What's in my bag," I thought it would be fun to post some of my own! What's in your purse?  ;) (After typing that out I realized I sound like the Viking from Capital One commercial - "What's in your wallet?" ha ha)
Happy Wednesday, lovelies. I hope the sun is shining where you are! It sure is nice over here today!  xox, m.

My Humble Little Garden

My husband and I love to eat healthy. Growing up my mom didn't have to tell me twice to eat my veggies ;) I was a SUPER picky eater, but vegetables were my favorite to eat! We buy vegetables ALL THE TIME. Buying organic vegetables leaves our wallets light and kind of empty... With spring here and summer quickly approaching I knew I could help out our wallet by having a small garden for our vegetables.  It won't just help our wallet, but it will also make me super happy knowing that we grew the vegetables ourselves! Watching plants come to life while the sun is waking them up and the rain is quenching their thirst is such a little miracle!  My parents have been gardening their whole lives, so I asked them to help us out with a garden of our own!  :) My dad is a hard worker, he kind of took over the whole project himself.  He built a little fence and brought soil in for our 8x8 garden.  Yes, it's tiny.  Dad laughs at it and calls it a sandbox.  Of course their garden is 10x bigger, but for my very first time gardening on my own we all agreed it will be a good size!

Here is my humble little garden in our backyard!  The reason I say "my" is because my hubby made it pretty clear that he wants nothing to do with it.... other than eat the vegetables.  Ha ha.  I don't mind.  It's small and it will be just enough for me to play in! I am not sharing! ;)
(The big ol' tree in the background is actually not ours :( We bought our house brand new, it doesn't have any old trees, or any trees actually, that makes me a little sad, but I am excited to plant our own trees and watch them grow with us!)

Yesterday I planted sugar snap peas!  They are my FAVORITE!!! They like to be planted as early as possible, they are not afraid of the cold.  Temperatures here in Virginia are still low, so I am not planting anything else for a couple more weeks!  Can't wait! :) You will see more of my gardening diaries on here.
Do you eat your veggies? ;)  If you have a garden of your own, I would love to hear any tips/tricks!  I am definitely not an expert on gardening... YET.  With my parent's help, I hope to become good with this thing! ;) As always, thank you for stopping by!  It makes me happy when you're here ;)
Happy Tuesday, xo m.

1001 Cat Places - Momo :)

So this 1001 Cat Places series was definitely O's idea. She tends to come up with whimsical ideas, that's the artist in her. Since I, too, am a whiskered pet owner, I decided to join in! This should be fun! I will start of with Momo in a dryer. We find her there from time to time... :) I think she should know a little better than that! I believe there was a time when the dryer got turned on while the curious kitty was still inside! O_O Don't worry, it was just for a sec and a total accident. She did not get burnt or hurt!!! We love her too much and would never want to hurt her.... but now I ALWAYS check before turning on the washer... Just in case ;)  Where do your pets like to hide?  Any stories/pictures?  If you have a blog where you record your pets' lives, in the comments give us the link and we will head over to check them out!!! ;) As always, thank you for stopping by! xox, m.

Sailing Away - Stamped Pants DIY

In between of packing suitcases and trying to clean my house I wanted to stamp my pants with anchors! I see anchors everywhere I go lately.  I stumbled upon a pair of black skinnies with little anchors all over and I tried them on at Old Navy, but wasn't willing to put down $30 for them. I am a cheapo, maybe that's why O and I are friends. Ha ha. We have a lot in common, not only the fact that we don't like to spend a lot of money.  I remembered that somewhere in my closet I have black skinnies. I haven't worn them in a few years, crossing my fingers I dug through a pile of clothes, hoping a) I find them and b) they will fit!  Guess what?  I was giddy!!! And couldn't wait to start my lil project!

For this project, I found a template of an anchor online.  I made it to the size that I was happy with, printed it out and using scissors and an Exacto knife cut it out.  Then I taped it to a cardboard and cut it out again.  I also taped a tiny piece of cardboard behind my stamp for easy stamping! I took a brush and applied white fabric paint and started to stamp away!  At first I tried fixing my anchors with a paintbrush and going over them, but then I quickly realized I love the stamped effect and the imperfectness of the results.

This project didn't take long at all... The longest part was to cut out the anchor!  I stamped the front side of my pants and let them dry overnight. If you decide to sail away with stamping, just read the drying instructions on your bottle! ;)  I stamped about 10-12 anchors on each leg front and back.  You can do as many or as little as you like.  Have fun with the sizing of the anchor as well! :)

What do you think of my pants? Are they appropriate for our vacation?  I think yes! ;)
I can't wait to get my hands on on more stamping!  I think maybe a shirt next?  I want polka dots!  Ahh, the possibilities are ENDLESS!!! You can make your own stamps of any size, shape, object you like!  I do have another project in mind, so don't be surprised to see more of stamping around here.  O and I are kind of in love with it! ;)  Also, head over here to check out O's Book Stamping Fun.  :)
Thank you so much for reading, happy Monday and happy stamping if you decide to do it!

Vacation in iPhone Photos

So we are back in the States today and on the road! I didn't really say where we went except that we were going on a trip... Last Saturday my husband and I, with some of our dear friends left for Miami. In Miami we boarded a cruise ship! Today we are driving back home to our oh so loved, Virginia! I will do you a giant favor and spare you from photos of me with my burnt face and white circles from sunglasses around my eyes. This girl was excited to see some sun and completely forgot about sunscreen! O_O I am, however, sharing photos of the tall standing buildings in Miami, the magical islands with their palm trees and crystal clear waters. Enjoy just a little snippet of our getaway! If you recently took a trip or have any photos from your previous vacations, please post a link in the comments and I will definitely check them out!!! ;) thanks! Happy Sunday, xo m.
